Registration for the 2016 BMW BERLIN-MARATHON starts on October 19, 2015
2015-10-15
The only “fair” way to accommodate the overwhelming interest in the race both nationally and internationally is to have an entry drawing. Everyone then has the same chance at a starting spot when there is a longer timeframe to register (October 19 (12:00 noon CET) to November 1, 2015). The limit of participants remains at 40,000.
NEW:
For the 2016 BMW BERLIN-MARATHON we are offering entry drawings for teams of 2 to 3 persons. You can either enter the drawing as an individual or as part of a team. It is not permitted to enter both drawings. If you do attempt to register for both drawings, your data will be removed from the individual drawing and only the registered teammates will be entered into the drawing.
As in the last year the registration will be more complete, including the submission of one’s address and bank data. If a name is drawn, the participant is “in”. We will send out a confirmation email after the application has been submitted. The medical questionnaire (PAPS Test) must be filled out afterwards. The bank or credit card information’s will be deleted for everyone who is not selected in the drawing. Payment will only be processed for those who have been selected. For a proper pre-registration your credit card has to be valid until at least 12/2015.
The results of the drawing will be announced between December 1-3, 2015.
The registration fee remains at 98€.

Tour Operators and Charity Partners
As in the past, both German and international tour operators will be offering race spots as part of a travel package (e.g. with hotel and/or travel). In addition, a contingency of race spots will be reserved for select charity partners under the motto: “Running for a good cause”.
In partnership with the RTL-“Spendenmarathon” (charity program of RTL Television/Germany which is collecting millions of Euros each year to help children in need) the registration for additional 1,000 slots starts on December 07th (9 am, CET).
Jubilee Club
All runners in the Jubilee Club – those who have finished the BERLIN MARATHON at least 10 times – do not need to register for the entry drawing. They will receive a special email in January 2016 explaining the registration process.
Fast Runners
Anyone who finished an AIMS*-certified marathon in the last two years (2014/2015) under a specified time and can prove it with a list of results or race certificate qualifies to receive a starting spot and does not have to register for the entry drawing. We will send out a confirmation email after the application has been submitted.
Male Runners:
Under 2:45 hours
Age 45 and up: under 2:55 hours
Female runners:
Under 3:00 hours
