Last registration call for real,- BERLIN MARATHON: Only 3,000 bib numbers left

Only 3,000 race numbers are left for the 33rd real,- BERLIN MARATHON. 37,000 participants have already signed in for the event staged by SCC-RUNNING. As soon as the limit of 40,000 participants in the biggest German marathon is reached, no more registrations will be possible. Whoever would like to run the real,- BERLIN MARATHON on September 24th should hurry to register.
Two super stars
Among the 37,000 registrations are two super stars of the international running circuit: Haile Gebrselassie and Mizuki Noguchi. The 33 year-old Ethiopian Gebrselassie already set 20 world records in his stunning career. His marathon best is 2:06:20 hours so far. Paul Tergat (Kenya) is the world record holder (2:04:55 hours). He set this time at the real,- BERLIN MARATHON in 2003. Mizuki Noguchi is the reigning Olympic Marathon Champion of Athens 2004. The 27 year-old Japanese won the 2005 edition of the real,- BERLIN MARATHON in a new course record of 2:19:12 hours, which was also a new Asian record.
Fall races of WMM start in Berlin
The real,- BERLIN MARATHON belongs to the new World Marathon Majors series (WMM). The best marathon runners in the world are collecting points at the BAA Boston Marathon, Flora London Marathon, LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon and ING New York City Marathon over a two-year cycle. Marathon races at Olympic Games and World Championships will count as well. The best male and female runner will split a jackpot of one million US-Dollar at the end. A maximum of four races will be counted.
