SCC RUNNING is reporting strong interest for the Vattenfall BERLIN HALF MARATHON. Already 10,000 registration forms for the largest event of its kind in Germany have been submitted to the event organiser, more than were recorded at the same time last year. A total of 18,331 athletes from 69 countries participated last year. Once again, the 26th Vattenfall BERLIN HALF MARATHON will mark the grand opening of the new running season. On April 2, runners, Nordic walkers, inline skaters, and hand cyclists will all be participating.
Save money
Whoever registers for the exactly 21.0975 km race by Friday of this week will save money. On Saturday, the registration fee will go up from 25 Euros to 30 Euros. It is also possible to register online at:
www.berliner-halbmarathon.de.
The runners’ race will begin at 10:45 a.m. on April 2 on the grand boulevard Unter den Linden near the famous Friedrichstraße. The starting shot for the inline skaters will ring out 25 minutes earlier. Parallel to the half marathon distance, there will be a Vattenfall FUN RUN (3.5 km) for beginners and school kids.
For the first time, a 6.8 km Vattenfall Berliner Nordic City Walk will be integrated into the event. Despite all of the construction going on in the area, the finish for all competitions will be at the Schlossbrücke (Palace Bridge) on the boulevard Unter den Linden.
