Since the year 2000, the real,- BERLIN MARATHON has been part of the World
Inline Cup (WIC), the highest-ranking race series in the world. The marathon
distinguishes itself not only through the highest number of participants, but
also qualitatively through its extraordinary entrants.
Through its status as “Finale of the World Inline Cup“, the
real,- BERLIN MARATHON has received its greatest up-valuation to the most
important competition in the area of inline skating worldwide. It was recently
decided that after its debut in 2003, that the finale should again take place
in Berlin in 2004.
The WIC will be presenting an exhilarating “Skate Village“ in
the finish area, as well as a season closing party together with the
“After-Skate Party“ for the rest of the participants. Thus, in
addition to marking the end of the athletic season, there will also be a big
season-end party for all of the skaters. It will definitely be an emotional and
eventful weekend.
Coni Altherr is also the organiser of the World Inline Cup
(WIC)
Coni Altherr and the Iguana Think Tank AG, which also created the Swiss
Inline Cup (SIC), have been managing the World Cup since 2003. The successful
SIC concept is being implemented worldwide. The focus of the efforts in the
inline sport worldwide has been especially the collaboration of three elements
“elite sport, general sport, and lifestyle“. The World Inline Cup
is to be developed step by step together with the world association
FIRS.
