The BERLIN MARATHON Jubilee Club with 1,229 members from 14 countries

The year-end letter

The club continues to grow, and we are delighted that the members come from 14 countries. Nothing demonstrates more strongly the attractiveness and appeal of the real,- BERLIN MARATHON.

Dear BERLIN MARATHON Jubilee Club members,

Shortly before the end of the year 2003, we would like to send you the latest Running News (Nr. 4) of 2003. The certificates and the “abbreviated“ list of results (only a portion of all of the results were published) of the 30th real,- BERLIN MARATHON 2003 have since been received everywhere. Bernd Hübner continues to be the absolute front-runner in the Jubilee Club with a total of 30 times participating, while Christl Heine leads the women with 23. Of our club members, this year we had a total of 48 women and 729 men runners, as well as 6 wheelchair competitors at the start. We would like to congratulate everyone who again made it successfully to the new finish—near the Brandenburg Gate.

The new extra race number on the back for the club members was well-received, often initiating positive commentary from the other runners, and the new special certificates for 15, 20, 25, and 30 times participating were also received with recognition. After this year’s 30th real,- BERLIN MARATHON, 49 new members were accepted and honoured on stage. Unfortunately not all of them were able to make it in time to the ceremony due to the relocation of the awards ceremony from Pariser Platz to the Platz des 18. März. We would like to extend our apologies here again for this misfortune.

We would like to cordially greet all of our new members and are pleased with the attractiveness of the BERLIN MARATHON Jubilee Club. Following the MARATHON we received 30 further registrations for the Jubilee Club. We would like to welcome them as well into the Club—all of the “new ones” are listed in the attachment.

The most current numbers are now: 1,229 members (78 women, 1135 men, 16 wheelchair competitors) – the members coming from 14 countries.

We are also including an order form for the MARATHON BOOK 2003 – a wonderful memento with impressive photos from an unforgettable MARATHON. All Jubilee members are perpetuated by name with their number of times participating in the book.

We wish all of the members good health, personal success and fun running for the year 2004. And of course we hope to be able to greet many of the members again at the 31st real,- BERLIN MARATHON on September 26, 2004 in Berlin.
