Charity Partnership Continues

NEW: Online Donations for the Deutsche Welthungerhilfe/German Agro-Action Iraqi Aid

The Deutsche Welthungerhilfe/German Agro-Action will be starting for the second time as the charity partner of the real,- BERLIN-MARATHON on September 27-28, 2003. This continues last years successful partnership with the event organiser, SCC-RUNNING. The goal of this years partnership is to assist the people of Iraq through sport. One way is for runners to have people sponsor them by the kilometre or minute.

The real,- BERLIN-MARATHON now also makes it possible to make a donation directly during online registration on their website. Whoever would like to take an early opportunity to become involved can do so at www.berlin-marathon.com or www.welthungerhilfe.de.

Thanks to the excellent commitment of numerous runners, sponsors, and real,- BERLIN-MARATHON, last year a project of the Deutsche Welthungerhilfe/German Agro-Action in Afghanistan was supported with a total of about 35,000 Euros. This year — true to the motto “United we run for Life“ – the money will be applied to the Iraqi Aid project of the Welthungerhilfe. Especially during the war, but also in the post-war period, the people in Iraq and the refugees need our help. The real,- BERLIN-MARATHON and the Deutsche Welthungerhilfe share the conviction that active support is possible especially through sport and therefore would like to invite everyone to support this project.

Runners who have already registered for the 30th real,- BERLIN-MARATHON 2003 can make donations directly at www.welthungerhilfe.de.

The organisers of the real,- BERLIN-MARATHON would already like to thank the marathon runners who in the first 4 days that online donations have been possible have already given over 1,100 Euros for the Iraq Aid project of the Deutsche Welthungerhilfe with their marathon registrations.
